Product Description

 Lactitol, also known as lactobitol, is a disitol sweetener derived from lactose, its chemical essence is 4-o-β-D-galactose pyranopyranose D sorbitol, a white crystal or colorless liquid, with a fresh taste similar to sucrose, sweetness of about 40% of the same concentration of sucrose, suitable for adding to low-sweetness foods. Lacttol, which does not occur in nature, is produced by hydrogenating and reducing the glucose group in lactose. Highly soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol. Strong stability, can still maintain its stability under acid, alkali, light and high temperature conditions. It is suitable for many foods, such as baked goods, sugar-coated candies and frozen dairy sweets. It has certain health care effect.
     Lactitol has a high glass transition temperature and can completely replace sucrose to prepare very good glassy low sugar hard confectionery. Lactitol has low hygroscopicity, can be used alone to prepare hard candy, will not produce anti-sand, closing and other bad quality candy, and do not have to use the higher price of anti-hygroscopicity special packaging, the use of ordinary packaging. Lactitol can also be used as an anticrystallization agent in combination with other sugar alcohols to prepare hard candy. In the production of soft sugar, lactitol can also be completely obtained from sucrose to prepare low sugar soft sugar, and there is no need to change the production process, such as the sweetness is not enough to appropriately add high sweetener.

 

Lactitol is a sugar alcohol used as a replacement bulk sweetener for low calorie foods with approximately 40% of the sweetness of sugar. It is also used medically as a laxative.

Lactitol is used in a variety of low food energy or low fat foods. High stability makes it popular for baking. It is used in sugar-free candies, cookies (biscuits), chocolate, and ice cream.
