Product Description

Sodium sulfide is also known as smelly alkali, smelly soda, yellow alkali, alkali sulfide. Sodium sulfide is an inorganic compound, and pure sodium sulfide is a colorless crystalline powder. Strong moisture absorption, soluble in water. The aqueous solution has a strong alkaline reaction. Contact with skin and hair can cause burns. So sodium sulfide is commonly known as alkali sulfide. Sodium sulfide aqueous solutions oxidize slowly in air to sodium thiosulfate, sodium sulfite, sodium sulfate, and sodium polysulfide. Due to the rapid formation of sodium thiosulfate, the main product of oxidation is sodium thiosulfate. Sodium sulfide deliqueses in the air, carbonates and deteriorates, and continuously releases hydrogen sulfide gas. Industrial sodium sulfide due to impurities in its color is pink, brown red, earth yellow. Specific gravity, melting point, boiling point, also vary due to the influence of impurities.
