V2O5, or v anadium pentoxide, is a chemical compound that makes it possible to use vanadium and oxygen. It is an orange-yellow solid that is commonly used in industrial catalysts, especially in the production of sulfuric acid. Van adium pentoxide is also used in ceramics, glass and as an electrode material for lithium-ion batteries. Its chemical properties and high catalytic performance make it play an important role in many chemical reactions.

Vanadium catalyst usually contains 5% ~ 10% vanadium pentoxide (V2O5), which is the main component with catalytic activity. In addition to vanadium pentoxide, the catalyst also contains potassium oxide (K2O) or sodium oxide (Na2O) as co-catalyst to increase the activity of vanadium catalyst. Diatomite (mostly silicon dioxide) is used as the carrier to increase the surface area of the catalyst's active component in contact with the gas. Some vanadium catalysts also contain substances such as tin oxide, antimony oxide, iron oxide and alumina.
