Product Description

Ethyl cellulose is a white to light gray flowable paste with thermoplasticity. It is unstable to heat, discolors at high temperature (240 ºC) and loses its original physical and chemical properties. The viscosity of commercial grade products shall be specified in Chemicalbook. The relative density is 1.07 ~ 1.18, the refractive index is 1.47, and the softening point is 100 ~ 130 ºC. It can generate a tough film, which can still maintain its flexibility at low temperatures.

Pharmaceuticals
EC can be used as film former, binder, dispersing agent, stabilizer, water retention agent and controlled release agent in many kinds of medicine.
 

Coating
EC can make up some printing and coating; The coating films have good glossiness and excellent sticking capability and flexibility.

Plastic
EC can make up the plastic powder which is easy to take shape, improve cold-resistant property and so on.

In other industry
EC is used as a temporary coating for fluorescent lamp tube so as to raise the viscosity of phosphor and harden the glasses' surface. In addition, it is used in electricity conductive printing ink which is used in the basement fake in integrated circuit.
