Product Description

    Tannic acid, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C76H52O46. It is a yellow or brownish yellow powder, and its aqueous solution turns blue black when it meets an iron salt solution. In industry, tannic acid is widely used in tanning leather and manufacturing blue ink. People chemically treat pig and cow hides with tannic acid, which can coagulate the soluble proteins in the hides. So, the raw leather that would have smelled and rotted in a few days turned into beautiful, clean, flexible, and durable leather. This tanning process is called leather tanning.
