Product Description

Tannic acid is a specific form of tannin, a polyphenol. The chemical formula for commercial tannins is usually C76H52O46, which corresponds to decacylglucoses, but in reality, it is a mixture of polygalactosylglucose or polygalactosylquinic ester, with the number of galacyl parts in each molecule depending on 2 to 12, depending on the plant source used to extract tannins. Commercial tannins are usually extracted from any of the following plant parts: the cocoa powder of the Tara pod (Caesalpinia spinosa), the hemisphical Rhus semialata or Quercus infectoria or Sicilian suac leaves
