Chemical name: Sodium benzoate Formula: C7H5Na O2 Molecular weight:144.11 Specificity: White crystalline granule or powder; Odorless or with little benzoin smell. stable in air. Highly soluble in water(53.0g/100ml,25ºC). Soluble in ethanol (1.4g/100ml).

Sodium Bnezoate is a white crystalline grain or powder. It is widely used for food preservative produced by reaction from sodium hydroxide with benzoic acid. Sodium Benzoate is a better molds and yeasts inhibitor and since acidity foods grow bacteria, mold and yeast quickly, it is cheapest way to preserve them.

Applications
